Job summary

APPLUS IDIADA in California is seeking a Chassis, Active Safety, and Durability Technician to join our automotive testing team. This full-time, on-site role involves hands-on setup, instrumented tests, and data collection across chassis, suspension, and safety programs, performed on both closed tracks and public roads.

You will install sensors, run testing cycles, maintain facilities, document results, and collaborate with senior technicians to ensure adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; two-year technical degree or trade experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years in a testing environment.
• Automotive technical knowledge of main vehicle components.
• Proficient with hand tools and precision instruments to meet specs.
• Experience with sensors installation and data acquisition is a plus.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial parts setup with photos, measurements, labeling.
• Execute vehicle maintenance and component retrofits per testing protocols.
• Maintain test facility conditions, including climatic chamber and salt water basin.
• Execute driving cycles on fatigue tracks and public roads.
• Install sensors and data acquisition for vehicle tests.
• Record data and assist in test reports.
