Job summary

Adventures by Dawn LLC is seeking a Motor Coach Operator for its Long Island, NY team based in Ronkonkoma. You will transport passengers safely on scheduled routes, load luggage, and maintain a clean bus interior.

Requirements include 19-A certification, CDL with air brakes and P endorsement, 2 years of CDL experience, and DOT qualification. Excellent customer service and presentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 19-A Certified.
• CDL Class A or B with air brakes and P endorsement.
• 2 years of CDL experience as a professional driver.
• Must meet DOT physical qualifications.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation industry practices.
• Neat and well-groomed appearance.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial bus and transport passengers according to assigned routes and schedules.
• Load, transfer, and unload passengers' luggage safely.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean and presentable bus interior.
• Conduct vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Coordinate with dispatch for efficient pickups and transfers.
• Report mechanical issues or accidents to authorities.
• Prepare reports on passengers, trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel, and fares.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Have basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle maintenance.

• Conduct vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure proper functioning of all equipment and safety features
• Coordinate with dispatch to ensure efficient pick-up and transfers
• Report any mechanical issues or accidents to the appropriate authorities
• Prepare and submit reports on passengers, trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, and fares received
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
• Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle maintenance
