Position Details:

• SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE 10,000 Sign On Bonus for full-time RNs with at least 1 year of experience NO CONTRACT
• Unit Details: Bed Numbers: 26 Nurse to Patient Ratio: 6:1 Patient Population: This unit offers a strong mix of orthopedic and surgical nursing, giving team members the opportunity to build expertise in post-operative care, rehabilitation, and patient education. Nurses play a key role in helping patients regain mobility, function, and independence following injury or surgery.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
• Licensure: Current RN license in the hiring state or compact state required
• Certifications: BLS (AHA) required within 30 days of hire Additional certifications may be required based on unit, including: ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, OCN, CPHON, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM, or other unit-specific credentials

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and squatting

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
