Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgical Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver compassionate, high‑quality care that truly impacts patients' well‑being and recovery. You will provide individualized, comprehensive care, make critical assessments, perform skilled procedures, and meticulously implement patient care plans. You will collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain current knowledge of all patient safety standards and National Patient Safety goals and consistently incorporate them into nursing practice.
  • Safely administer medications and blood products using the seven rights of medication administration and two separate hospital-approved identifiers to identify the patient prior to medication or blood administration.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic work environment at all times and identify and address problems to the appropriate departments.
  • Adhere to principles of infection control, including medical and surgical asepsis and isolation techniques. Demonstrate aseptic technique while conducting sterile dressing changes, urinary catheterizations, and similar duties.
  • Receive, interpret, and implement physician orders in a safe and timely manner using the hospital-approved process for telephone and/or verbal orders that include readback of all orders.
Required Qualifications
  • High school graduate education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications. 1 year of operating room/surgical experience (training may be considered if operational conditions permit).
  • High school GED upon hire.
  • Registered Nurse licensure in California upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support–CPR (American Heart Association) upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Association) upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher upon hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support upon hire.
