Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to coordinate high-quality care across the life span in a dynamic hospital setting.

The role requires GA RN licensure, BCLS, ACLS and PALS certifications, with newborn, obstetric, or emergency capabilities valued. Orientation includes EFM training and ongoing professional development in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • RN licensure in GA required
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • BCLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
  • NRP required by orientation end date
  • AWHONN fetal monitoring certification within 12 months
  • PEARS certification required at Piedmont Augusta Hospital
  • PALS if unit serves pediatric patients where applicable

Education

Graduate from recognized, accredited nursing school

RN - Georgia state licensure and/or NLC/eNCL multistate licensure required
Basic Life Support (BCLS) required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required
Newborn/Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) by end of orientation
AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 12 months
PEARS certification required
ACLS and PALS for Emergency Department if applicable
ACLS; PALS for pediatric units as applicable
Advanced certification in specialty area, if applicable

Overview: Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.

Qualifications:
Education
  • Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required
  • Bachelors Degree Preferred
Work Experience
  • 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting Required
  • 2 years or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
  • Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
  • ACLS Certification (Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery) Required
  • PALS Certification (Emergency Department) Required
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Infusion/Oncology) Required
  • NRP by the end of orientation period (Womens Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery) Required
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Labor and Delivery) within 1 Year Required
  • PEARS Certification ( at Piedmont Athens Hospital) Required
  • PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) Required
  • ACLS and PALS Certification (Emergency Department) Required
  • ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) Required
  • Experienced Emergency Department nurses will have 30 days to obtain the PALS certification within 30 Days
