Great Plains Nursing and Rehabilitation in Texas is seeking a Charge Nurse - LVN or RN to lead care teams and ensure high-quality resident care.

You will supervise Nurse Aides, administer medications, implement care plans, document care, and collaborate during shift reports, while maintaining safety and infection control.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN or LVN license, has excellent communication, and can respond quickly to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN or LVN in good standing.
• Strong technical, assessment, and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and workflow organization abilities.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and maintain attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Direct care teams and supervise Nurse Aides to ensure resident care.
• Administer medications safely as prescribed.
• Implement and monitor resident care plans in line with policies and physician orders.
• Deliver treatments to maintain resident health and comfort.
• Transcribe physician orders accurately.
• Document resident care and complete nursing assessments.
• Participate in shift reports for seamless communication.
• Educate support staff on nursing policies and procedures.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards.
• Address staffing needs by arranging replacements as necessary.

Your Impact as a Charge Nurse - LVN or RN

• Direct Care Teams: Provide guidance to Nurse Aides to ensure appropriate care for residents.
• Administer Medications: Properly and safely administer resident medications as prescribed.
• Implement Care Plans: Execute resident care plans in compliance with company policies, federal guidelines, and physician orders.
• Perform Treatments: Deliver treatments as required to ensure resident health and comfort.
• Transcribe Orders: Accurately and promptly transcribe physician orders.
• Document Resident Care: Maintain timely and accurate documentation in resident charts and complete required nursing assessments.
• Collaborate During Shift Reports: Participate in shift reports to ensure seamless communication and care continuity.
• Educate Support Staff: Implement nursing policies and procedures, educating staff on the care needs of residents.
• Maintain Safety Standards: Promote a safe working environment by complying with infection control and body mechanic procedures.
• Address Staffing Needs: Respond to staffing shortages by arranging for replacement staff as necessary.
