Bedford Specialty Care in Bedford, IA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our 39-bed skilled nursing community. We offer Full-Time & Part-Time night shifts with a competitive hourly rate + shift differential to recognize care quality.

As a Charge Nurse - LPN, you will administer medications, perform wound care and IV therapy, lead a care team, and ensure compliance with regulations while supporting residents and families.

Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing (Iowa).
• Current CPR certification.
• Completion of State-approved LPN Supervisory Course or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations.
• Compassionate, empathetic patient care approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing assessments of residents’ clinical status and contribute to care planning with the interdisciplinary team.
• Deliver and oversee direct nursing care, including wound care and IV therapy as allowed.
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor responses, and ensure proper documentation.
• Serve as a clinical leader, coordinating resident care and communicating with physicians, leadership, residents, and families.
• Supervise and support CNAs and other staff to maintain high-quality care.
• Ensure adherence to regulations and infection prevention practices.
• Provide education and emotional support to residents and families about care plans and goals.
