Aurora St. Luke’s is seeking a skilled registered nurse for the 8C Abdominal Transplant unit. You will provide comprehensive patient care, coordinate nursing activities, and uphold safety and quality standards for high-acuity patients requiring transplant services.

The role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and leadership in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to advance through BSN completion and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• ADN acceptable with agreement to enroll in BSN completion program within two years to be completed in five years.
• 2 years RN experience.
• 1 year Charge Nurse experience.
• RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care.
• Lead with evidence-based practice and strong communication to ensure the safest patient environment and best patient experience.
• Collaborate with the care team to support transplant unit patients and family education.

Where You Will Work:

8C The Abdominal Transplant (Liver, Kidney & Pancreas) unit has 26 beds. High acuity- step-down unit to SICU. We not only take care of transplant patients but also see liver disease, renal disease, general abdominal surgeries, oncology surgery and urological overflow. This is a fast paced, moderate acuity floor that requires the ability to think on your feet and build relationships with your patients. We would love for you to join our team!!

We’re Looking For:

Education/Experience Required:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• ADN acceptable with agreement to enroll in BSN completion program in two years to be completed in five years.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
