Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Charge Lead Nurse for the 2 West Med Surg/ Post-Surgical units at Taylor Hospital. You will provide direct oversight, supervise daily unit operations, staffing, and patient flow while ensuring high-quality care and adherence to hospital policies.

The role requires RN licensure in Michigan, 2+ years of nursing experience, and BSN within 5 years if applicable. Night shift; full-time schedule with a 36-hour week and rotating days.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN/ Diploma or BSN).
• MI RN license required upon hire.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oversight and supervision of on-line unit processes (staffing, scheduling, patient care issues).
• Ensure appropriate resource allocation and respond to codes and patient flow.
• Adhere to hospital policies and drive growth and development within the unit.

2 West is comprised of a 23 bed Med Surg Unit and a 23 bed Post- Surgical Unit. We have a very friendly staff who are welcoming and willing to mentor new RNs. We handle medium to high acuity patients with a 5 to 6 patient ratio. Our team is passionate about patient care and shared governance.

About Taylor Hospital

A Magnet-designated hospital that is a recognized health care leader serving the area since 1977. It offers specialty services that include 24-hour emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a surgical pavilion, a pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility and full-service radiology, including advanced CT with cardiac scoring, fixed MRI including pacemaker, cinema vision and ultrasound (MSK and elastography).

Scope of work

TheChargeLead Nurserole is to provide direct oversight and supervision of all on line unit processes. This is inclusive of but not limited to staffing and scheduling changes affecting current shift, patient care issues and concerns. Appropriate allocation of resources responding to all codes, and handling employee issues and concerns. In addition to ensuring consistent flow of patients through the department. Functions within the framework of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates growth/development.

Qualifications

• Required Associate's Degree or equivalent Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Preferred Bachelor's Degree BSN
• Required Bachelor's Degree For new hires or recent promotions with ADN or Diploma, must complete BSN within 5 years of hire.
• 2 years of relevant experience recent nursing experience. Required
• LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required Or
• CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation Upon Hire required
