Job summary

Caris Healthcare seeks a Chaplain/Volunteer Coordinator to support the hospice interdisciplinary team through spiritual assessments, planning, and bereavement support. The role involves visits to patients and families, coordinating with clergy, and contributing to end-of-life care.

Qualifications

  • Master Degree of Divinity, Religion or Theology is required.
  • One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is preferred, For Georgia 1 CPE is required.
  • Prefer one (1) year experience in Hospice or related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Completes and documents ongoing spiritual assessments, interventions, and outcomes related to patient and family.
  • Communicates significant spiritual needs of the patient and family to the hospice interdisciplinary team related to terminal illness, impending loss, and bereavement.
  • Conducts visits with patients and caregivers in their residential setting.
  • Connects patients and caregivers with community clergy and/or spiritual leaders as needed to meet diverse spiritual needs.
  • Assists with bereavement support and interventions for caregivers following the death of a patient.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation to make after hours visits when needed for a patient's death, funeral, admission, spiritual crisis, etc.

Description

Position: Chaplain / Volunteer Coordinator. Caris Healthcare Chaplain / Volunteer Coordinator (dual role) provides support the hospice interdisciplinary team through office functions.
