Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) seeks a Chaplain Pro Re Nata (PRN) to provide as-needed, person-centered spiritual care to patients, families and staff within the hospital.

The role requires an ACPE-accredited CPE unit and a bachelor’s degree; a CHEA-accredited master’s program is preferred. Ordained ministry in good standing is preferred; two years of ministry experience is also preferred, though not required. The Chaplain reports to the Director of Pastoral Care/CPE.

Qualifications

• One ACPE unit and a bachelor’s degree from a CHEA-accredited institution.
• Enrolled in or completed a 72-semester hour master’s degree program in theology or divinity from a CHEA-accredited institution.
• No strict minimum professional experience required; two years of ministry experience is preferred.
• Ordained minister (or ordained deacon) in good standing with a faith group is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered spiritual care to patients, families and colleagues.
• Offer crisis intervention and spiritual support throughout the institution.

Qualifications

Required Education:

• One (1) completed CPE unit (minimum) from an Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) accredited program and a bachelor’s degree from a Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) accredited institution.

Preferred Education:

• Enrolled in (or completed) a 72-semester hours (minimum) master’s degree program in theology or divinity from a CHEA accredited educational institution.

• Two (2) or more years of ministry experience in a faith community or other institutional ministry setting.
