Job summary

St. Louis Children\'s Hospital is seeking a PRN Chaplain to provide spiritual care to patients, families and staff as part of the interdisciplinary care team.

This on-call role requires living within a 30-minute radius of the hospital. Minimum qualifications include a Master\'s Degree in Theology or related field, at least 2 years of experience, and board certifications or ordination eligibility; ACPE CPE units are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Theology or related field.
• Experience of less than 2 years.
• Licenses & Certifications: ACPE CPE unit; APC, NACC, AJC; Ordination or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct spiritual care to patients and families.
• Provides consultation to other care team members regarding spiritual issues and ethics.
• Provides direct pastoral care to staff and physicians as needed.
• Contributes to professional spiritual care by conducting and reporting research, publishing, and providing workshops.

Role Purpose

Provides spiritual care, short term counseling, worship leadership, education and other religious support to patients, families and staff as members of the interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct spiritual care to patients and families.
• Provides consultation to other members of the care team regarding spiritual issues and resources in patient and family care and regarding ethics.
• Provides direct pastoral care to staff and physicians, as needed, complementing staff support services provided by others.
• Contributes to the field of professional spiritual care by conducting and reporting research, publishing and providing workshops at professional meetings.
