Blessing Health System in Quincy, IL seeks a Chaplain to provide ministry and spiritual care to patients, families, and staff. You will work with the Spiritual Care Department to guide volunteer chaplains from diverse faiths and offer counseling across life events.
Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and CPCE units, denominational endorsement, and ordination eligibility. Master of Divinity and hospital chaplain experience are preferred. Exempt position with competitive benefits.
PAY RATE: $24.85 - $37.28
BASED ON RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
The Chaplain provides ministry, spiritual guidance and support to patients, family members, caregivers and staff. Works in collaboration with the elected Spiritual Care Executive Committee members, Chaplain, Spiritual Care Supervisor and the Director of Volunteer Services to guide and direct the Volunteer Spiritual Care Program. The Chaplain offers spiritual care to those with no specific affiliation/preference or no pastor available. Works in an interfaith environment using a non-denominational style of counseling. This position requires working with Volunteer Chaplains of many faiths serving a diverse population, and provides counsel to patients undergoing surgical procedures, facing end of life issues or involved in traumatic events. Chaplains provide service to many age populations, including neonates through geriatric in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital and Blessing Volunteer Services and Spiritual Care Department. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Code of Conduct and I-CARE Standards while supporting the strategic plan of Blessing Health System. Chaplains are held to a high standard of ethical behavior, professionalism and confidentiality.
