Job Summary

This includes rounding, charting in medical record interventions, attending ethics or family conferences as requested; and caring for staff in crisis moments. Monthly supervision will be provided by the Department Director at staff meetings where attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• The Staff Chaplain makes daily rounds on assigned units and on specific patient populations when directed providing ministry during scheduled hours and clearing all referrals.
• Serves full-time or flexible hours in house daily.
• Collaborates with physician and nursing staff in providing emotional and spiritual support.
• Documents in the patient’s medical record any visitation within 72 hours of visit.
• May be responsible for providing worship services on faith-specific high holy days in his/her faith tradition when assigned.
• Works as a team player with all faith groups and members of the staff in Chaplaincy Services.
• Participates in continuing chaplaincy related education for the Medical Center, Chaplaincy Service and surrounding community upon prior approval of department Director.
• Uses continuing education to improve skills and bring creative enrichment to the Chaplaincy Service Department.
• Will attend monthly Staff meetings. Will complete all annual requirements as required timely.
