Job summary

USAA in the United States seeks a Senior Change Partner to lead and champion organizational change initiatives within the Property & Casualty Portfolio Management Office. You will design and implement change management strategies that maximize employee adoption and minimize disruption across functions.

You will collaborate with Change Management and partner teams to assess impacts, develop sustainment plans, and coach executives through a matrixed organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related education and/or experience.
  • 6 years of directly related experience in organizational change management, communication, organizational development, marketing, HR, or project delivery; 2 years must include change management; Advanced Degree accepts 4 years with 2 years change management.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management and/or change management and demonstrated application of knowledge to work products.
  • Experience partnering for client’s success, organizational savvy and politics, and applying emotional intelligence to overcome resistance and coach leaders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for multiple audiences.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and delivery principles.
  • Working knowledge of risk and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in or lead a cross-functional Change Management and readiness team to plan, manage, and sustain change and ensure client success.
  • Partner with Change Management to identify integration points, impacted audiences, and change impact.
  • Lead development of change strategy and sustainment plan; adapt for resistance and acceptance.
  • Develop change impact and readiness assessments and execute related activities to support transition.
  • Coach and influence executive business owners to lead change in a matrixed organization; mentor junior change partners.
  • Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks per risk and compliance policies.

The Opportunity

As a dedicated Change Partner Senior supporting the Property & Casualty Portfolio Management Office, you will lead and champion organizational change initiatives. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the effective implementation and successful adoption of critical initiatives, focusing on partner engagement and overall organizational readiness. You will collaborate across the company to design and implement change management strategies and plans that optimize employee adoption and minimize disruption.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Chesapeake, VA, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:
  • Participate in or lead a cross-functional team of Change Management and readiness resources to understand, plan, manage and sustain change and ensure client success. Guide work performed by Change Management and partner resources assigned to a specific change effort.
  • Partner with Change Management team to understand a change initiative, identify integration points and impacted audiences and assess the impact of the change.
  • Lead work to create change management strategy to include sustainment plan. Consults on implementation of change plan and adjusts for resistance and acceptance of change.
  • May develop change strategy and conduct change impact and readiness assessment to identify key changes or readiness gaps that will impact the organization; develop and execute change management activities to support the transition.
  • Coach and influence executive business owners to lead change in a highly matrixed organization. May mentor more junior change partners.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 6 years of directly related experience such as organizational change management, communication, organizational development, marketing, human resources and/or project delivery and accountability for complex tasks and/or projects; 2 years must include change management experience; OR if Advanced Degree, 4 years of related experience, as previously referenced and 2 years must include change management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management and/or change management function/discipline and demonstrated application of knowledge, skills and abilities towards work products.
  • Experience partnering for client's success, organizational savvy and politics and applying emotional intelligence, organizational savvy and politics, overcoming resistance to change, and coaching/influencing leaders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to include ability to develop communications materials for multiple audiences.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies delivery and principles.
  • Working knowledge of risk and regulatory requirements.

  • Prior U.S. military service or being a military spouse/domestic partner is highly valued
  • 3+ years working in property and casualty insurance industry
  • PROSCI certification
  • Strong understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and best practices tailored to technology transformations and portfolio management
  • Effective communication and ability to guide stakeholders through the transformation process, articulating the vision for change, addressing concerns, and ensuring alignment across the organization
  • Experience administering change assessment surveys and compiling analytics with action plans to assess organizational readiness and communicate results with key stakeholders and leaders
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes, pivot strategies as needed, and maintain resilience in the face of uncertainty or resistance
  • Experience leading organizational culture shifts and effectively managing resistors to ensure goals are achieved and success is sustained long-term

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $103,450 - $197,730 .
