Job summary

Coral Ridge Country Club in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is seeking a Championship Course Assistant Superintendent to direct and participate in the maintenance of the golf course and grounds. The role includes supervising staff, coordinating maintenance plans, and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

You'll oversee greens, tees, fairways, irrigation, and drainage, manage safety compliance, and maintain records while supporting the Superintendent in his/her absence.

Qualifications

• Essential duties include managing golf course maintenance staff and performing evaluations, disciplinary actions, and staffing decisions as needed.
• Planning and maintaining greens, tees, fairways, and club property.
• Scheduling work and supervising staff and equipment usage.
• Instructing equipment operators on mowing and related equipment.
• Performing pesticide and fertilizer applications and maintaining records.
• Overseeing pumps, irrigation, and drainage system maintenance.
• Assisting in personnel management, safety, and daily scheduling adjustments as needed.
• Conducting daily security checks and ensuring accurate inventory of equipment and keys.
• Ensuring proper handling and disposal of chemicals and petroleum per regulations; maintaining OSHA records.
• Ensuring work complies with OSHA standards and PPE guidelines.

• Performs pesticide and fertilizer applications and keep records of all applications.
• Supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, and the maintenance of the irrigation and drainage systems.
• Assists in the personnel management, employee safety, personnel discipline and may modify the daily work schedule based on professional interpretation.
• Conducts daily facility security checks ensuring accurate inventory of equipment and keys.
• Ensures that chemicals, petroleum and other controlled products are used, stored, and disposed of in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Maintains required OSHA records and strives to minimize the use of chemicals and petroleum products.
• Conducts all work in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards; guidelines, personal protection equipment etc.

Job Summary:

Directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course and entire grounds of the club. Supervises the maintenance and repair of all motorized and other mechanical equipment, and does all related work required. Serves in the Superintendent’s capacity during his/her absence.
