Job summary

Solairus Aviation is seeking a Captain to lead safe, prudent operation of the Challenger 650. You will manage the aircraft, crew and client safety from briefing to block-in.

Base is KBED, Bedford, MA with on-call travel to support client itineraries. Requires extensive flight hours, PIC experience, and a Challenger 650 type rating; annual ICAO training is required.

Qualifications

• 3,000 hours total time required.
• 1,500 hours PIC required.
• 1,500 hours multi-engine (MEL), including 500 MEL PIC.
• 500 hours turbojet experience required.
• 250 hours instrument time required.
• Current first-class medical certificate is required.
• Type rating in Challenger 650 or comparable aircraft.
• On-call availability with annual ICAO procedures training.
• Residence within two-hour drive of KBED or willingness to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Act as Pilot in Command, ensuring safety of passengers, crew and aircraft.
• Review maintenance status and discrepancies prior to each flight.
• Conduct pre-flight inspections per Aircraft Flight Manual.
• Plan routes, assess weather, NOTAMs and facilities en route.
• Comply with Solairus Aviation procedures and FARs.
• Complete trip documentation and operational paperwork accurately.

About the role

As Captain, you will lead safe and prudent operation of the Challenger 650, ensuring meticulous preparation, compliance with company procedures and applicable FARs, and an exceptional experience for passengers. You will be entrusted with the aircraft, crew, and client safety from briefing to block-in.

What you'll do

• Serve as Pilot in Command of the Challenger 650, protecting passengers, crew, and aircraft at all times.
• Review aircraft maintenance status and discrepancies prior to each flight.
• Conduct complete pre-flight inspections in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
• Plan routes and alternates; check weather, NOTAMs, and facilities along the route and at destination/alternate airports.
• Ensure full compliance with Solairus Aviation procedures and applicable FARs.
• Accurately complete all trip documentation and operational paperwork.

What you bring

• Minimum 3,000 hours total time.
• 1,500 hours PIC.
• 1,500 hours multi-engine (MEL), including 500 hours MEL PIC.
• 500 hours in turbojet aircraft.
• 250 hours instrument time.
• Current first-class medical.
• Type rating in the Challenger 650 or a comparable aircraft.
