Medical Products Laboratories is seeking a Sanitation Operations Lead in Philadelphia, PA. You will supervise sanitation staff across production, packaging, and warehouse, ensuring cleaning per cGMP and SOPs and maintaining audit-ready records.

Reporting to the VP of Operations, you’ll manage master sanitation schedules, coordinate with QA during internal and FDA inspections, and drive safety and SDS compliance while supporting changeovers and daily sanitation tasks.

cGMP Sanitation Operations LeadMedical Products Laboratories — FDA-regulated packaging, manufacturing, and warehousing in Philadelphia, PA.Your day in this roleYou start the morning walking the production floor, confirming pre-op checks are complete before the first line starts. You review sanitation logs for accuracy, coach a new technician on proper gowning, and realign the team’s schedule to support an urgent changeover. Midday, you partner with Quality Assurance to prep for an internal audit, verifying that every sanitation record is audit-ready. By afternoon, you’re checking inventory of approved chemicals, ensuring SDS documentation is current, and updating the master sanitation schedule. Throughout it all, you’re leading a safe, compliant operation that protects product quality and patient safety.Role snapshotLocation: Philadelphia, PADepartment: OperationsReports to: VP OperationsSchedule: Primarily 1st shift (7:00am–3:30pm) with occasional 2nd shift coverage; Full-Time, Non-ExemptPay range: $60,000–$70,000 annually, DOE**FLSA Status: **Non-Exempt (Supervisory)What you’ll leadDaily supervision, assignment, and coordination of sanitation staff across production, packaging, warehouse, and common areas.Execution of all cleaning activities to cGMP and SOP standards, with rigorous Good Documentation Practices.Onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management for cleaning technicians; corrective action when necessary.Real-time completion and review of cleaning logs, checklists, and batch-related documentation.Routine inspections and pre-op verifications to release areas for start-up.Safe selection, storage, and use of approved chemicals, tools, and equipment in full SDS/label compliance.Audit readiness at all times—supporting internal, customer, and FDA inspections.Investigation of sanitation-related deviations and complaints; root cause analysis and CAPA participation.Close collaboration with QA and Production to time cleaning around changeovers and reduce downtime.Enforcement of hygiene, gowning, and safety requirements per GMP and site policy.Ownership of SOP updates, cleaning validation protocols, and the master sanitation schedule with Quality.Ordering and tracking of sanitation supplies/equipment; stewardship of the sanitation consumables budget.Strict adherence to OSHA and workplace safety standards.Team leadershipYou will directly supervise cleaning technicians: participate in interviewing and hiring recommendations, set schedules, allocate work, conduct reviews, and resolve issues in line with company policy.What you bringHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or technical certification preferred.5+ years in sanitation/cleaning/facilities within cGMP, pharmaceutical, medical device, or other FDA-regulated manufacturing, including proven supervisory or lead experience.Working knowledge of cGMP, FDA regulations (21 CFR 210/211 or 820), and industry sanitation standards.Experience with master sanitation schedules, cleaning validation, and GDP.Demonstrated leadership—training, motivating, and holding teams accountable.Clear written and verbal communication; confident presenting records during audits.Comfort with Microsoft Office, e-logbooks, or CMMS for scheduling and documentation.Know-how in chemical handling, storage, disposal, and SDS compliance.Bilingual ability (English/Spanish or English/Hindi) is a plus.Physical demands & environmentExtended standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.; push/pull equipment and supply carts.Work in manufacturing/warehouse conditions with variable temperature, noise, and exposure to cleaning chemicals.Wear and enforce PPE and GMP gowning per area requirements.Full-time 1st shift with occasional off-shift flexibility for coverage, audits, or urgent needs.Compensation & benefitsCompetitive hourly pay: $22.00–$28.00/hour, based on experience.Medical, dental, and vision insurance.Paid time off and company-observed holidays.401(k) with company match (if applicable).Growth opportunities within a stable, GMP-regulated manufacturer.Note: This job description reflects general duties and requirements for this role and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
