Job summary

Nesco Resource is hiring a 1st shift CG Packer for the Casegoods Finishing team in Conover, NC. The role involves white glove hand packing to prepare furniture for shipping and unloading casegoods containers. Responsibilities include packing/unpacking fine furniture, moving pieces in the warehouse, and following detailed packing specifications with care.

Safety and proper lifting are emphasized; there is a Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Must know prep, pack and trim processes.
• Able to recognize parts and style numbers.
• English reading ability for tickets and instructions.
• Able to follow packing specifications precisely.

Responsibilities

• Using white glove technique with care, helps pack cases and tables.
• Packing/Unpacking of fine furniture pieces.
• Responsible for unloading casegoods containers.
• Handling of furniture with care while packing/unpacking.
• Movement of furniture around warehouse.
• Requires overall knowledge of Rub and Pack
• May prep, pack and/or trim.
• Wrap piece in foam and apply corner pads, etc. as required.
• Unwrap piece in foam and apply corner pads, etc. as required.
• Perform all duties safely and report any safety hazards to your immediate supervisor including proper lifting techniques.
• Maintains neat and orderly workstation.
• Wears required safety glasses and footwear; works safely and reports unsafe conditions to Dept. Supervisor
• Performs daily stretching exercises.
• Performs other duties as required by supervisor.

Pay: $16.00 hour / if solid work history, experience, will discuss a higher rate

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Position Summary:

Preparing furniture by white glove hand packing to be ready for shipping. Unloads Casegoods Container.

• Must have ability to recognize parts and style numbers.
• English required for reading tickets and instructions.
• Must be able to understand and follow packing specifications.

Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:

• Previous knowledge of furniture packing/unpacking.

Physical demands and work environment:

• Lift / Carry: Frequently lifting 35 – 100 lbs. onto and off workstation; occasionally lifting in excess of 100 lbs.; team lift greater weights. Must be able to lift/remove and flip over pieces for cartooning.
• Standing / Walking: Must be able to stand and walk consistently during the 8+ hour day.
• Reach / Handle / Grasp/Feel: Repetitive use of hands required. Must be able to use drills, screwdrivers, staple guns throughout the day.
• Bend / Lift / Stoop: Gathering supplies throughout day from various heights.
• Push/Pull: Must be able to push cases into designated work zones; or pull with designated tow tool.
• Environment: Indoors, controlled airflow, no air conditioning.
• Tool Usage: Required to use glue gun, staple gun, rubber mallet, hammer, screwdriver, channel locks, adjustable wrenches, and other tools for entire shift.
