Job summary

Friends University in Wichita, KS seeks an experienced executive to lead its finance operations, reporting directly to the President and serving on the Cabinet. The role directs budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and controls, with oversight of investments, endowment assets, and audits.

The CFO/VP of Administration drives strategic planning, policy development, and resource analysis for the university and collaborates with key departments across Finance, IT, and Facilities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in finance and/or accounting management with supervision.
• Higher education and nonprofit experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operation of the finance department and ensures forecasting, budgeting, and reporting systems support strategic objectives.
• Oversees investment activities, endowment and restricted funds, and debt management; monitors contracts and campus-wide financial risks.
• Provides executive oversight of facilities, grounds, and property functions; leads capital project coordination with architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Presents financial results to Board committees and oversees external audits, accounting, and tax services.
