Job description

Principal, CFO Advisory

Lead engagements, mentor staff, and build client relationships by improving financial reporting processes and driving operational efficiencies for CFOs, Controllers, and Finance leaders.

What You Will Do
  • Lead engagements from technical accounting support, audit, transaction, and IPO readiness to interim CFO office support and financial operations design.
  • Positively impact clients' financial statements, profitability, and business operations.
  • Penetrate client engagements in the firm’s primary target industries.
  • Proactively engage with clients throughout the year to understand business goals and objectives.
  • Play an active role in providing valuable guidance and business recommendations.
  • Deliver business insight through thoughtful review, analysis, and discussion.
  • Manage cross‑functional teams to deliver engagements and ensure client profitability targets are met.
  • Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally to acquire new referral sources, clients, projects, and revenue.
  • Invest in professional development individually and through firm‑wide learning and development programs.
  • Support the growth and development of team members, helping associates meet their professional goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; master’s or advanced degree desirable.
  • CPA or CFA preferred.
  • Fifteen (15+) years’ experience in public accounting, audit, corporate financial accounting, and/or finance process consulting.
  • Demonstrated success in originating and expanding client relationships, including revenue growth through business development, cross‑selling, and market expansion.
  • Strong technical skills and working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting.
  • Experience with IPOs and SEC filings a plus.
  • History of relationships with private equity firms and their portfolio companies.
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, and maintain ethical commitment and urgency for quality and timely project completion.
