Job summary

Institute of Management Accountants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager for CFO Advisory - Accounting Advisory who guides engagements on technical accounting, new standards adoption, and financial reporting while mentoring junior staff.

You will work with client leadership to drive growth in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. Responsibilities include leading engagement planning, fieldwork, and deliverable composition, leveraging automation to improve performance and ensuring US GAAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and strong understanding of US GAAP.
• 7+ years of experience in public accounting or industry with audit, accounting or consulting background.
• Experience with technical accounting and understanding of accounting processes and internal controls.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred; proven experience scoping, presenting, and selling engagements.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to adapt messaging for various audiences.
• Professional service network and sales interest preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver accounting advisory services including technical accounting, new standards implementation, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and on-demand accounting support
• Direct activities of junior professionals, participate in engagement discussions with client leadership, and assist with drafting deliverables
• Participate in all stages of engagements: planning, fieldwork, wrap-up, and deliverable composition
• Maintain strong client focus and build relationships with key client personnel to achieve objectives
• Leverage automation and digital processes to drive performance improvements and reduce bottlenecks
• Advise on accounting system selection and implementation by aligning processes and engaging technology partners

The role emphasizes leadership, integrity, and delivering high-quality advisory services. You will work on complex issues such as IPO readiness, GAAP conversions, and processes optimization.
