This role emphasizes business judgment over accounting work, requiring cross‑functional influence, strong KPIs, and scalable processes.

This is an opportunity for a hands‑on, business-oriented CFO who thrives in entrepreneurial environments and enjoys helping founder‑led and growth‑stage organizations scale intelligently.

The Chief Financial Officer will be a key member of the executive leadership team and a strategic partner to the CEO. The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with business judgment and a growth‑oriented mindset, helping drive strategic initiatives, improve decision‑making, and identify opportunities to create long‑term enterprise value.

This is not a traditional accounting‑heavy CFO role. The company leverages outsourced accounting resources, allowing the CFO to focus on strategy, planning, corporate development, business performance, and executive leadership.

The CFO will work closely with business unit leaders, department heads, and the executive team to translate financial insights into business outcomes. Success in this role requires a leader who can influence across the organization, build trust quickly, and drive results through collaboration rather than hierarchy.

The CFO will oversee finance, corporate development, legal, and financial governance.

Revised Financial Leadership Section

Financial Strategy & Performance Management

• Lead the company's financial strategy, planning, forecasting, and performance management processes.
• Provide financial insight and decision support to the CEO and leadership team.
• Develop and monitor KPIs that improve visibility into business performance and enable effective resource allocation.
• Drive annual planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial modeling.
• Partner with leadership across the organization to improve business performance and profitability.
• Evaluate strategic investments and capital allocation decisions through rigorous financial analysis.
• Ensure appropriate financial controls, governance, and risk management processes are in place.

Accounting Oversight

• Provide executive oversight of outsourced accounting and finance partners.
• Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and compliance with all regulatory and audit requirements.
• Evaluate and improve financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities as the company grows.
• Serve as the executive owner of the company's finance technology ecosystem and reporting infrastructure.

Preferred Experience

• CFO, VP Finance, or senior finance leader within a growth‑stage, founder‑led, or entrepreneurial business.
• Experience in companies ranging from approximately $10 million to $50 million in revenue.
• Demonstrated success serving as a strategic business partner, not solely an accounting leader.
• Experience leading corporate development initiatives, including acquisitions, partnerships, strategic investments, or market expansion opportunities.
• Media, digital media, advertising technology (AdTech), SaaS, or technology‑enabled business experience preferred.
• Experience working with outsourced accounting providers or lean finance organizations.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Ramp, or similar modern finance tools is a plus.

The successful candidate will likely be someone who:

• Has helped scale a startup or growth‑stage company from one phase of maturity to the next.
• Enjoys solving ambiguous business problems and is comfortable operating without a playbook.
• Knows how to build alignment and influence decisions without relying on positional authority.
• Is equally comfortable in the boardroom, a leadership meeting, or sitting with a GM to work through business challenges.
• Understands that the next chapter of this company is about scaling, optimization, and strategic growth rather than turnaround management.
• Can balance financial discipline with an entrepreneurial approach to opportunity creation.

• We're seeking a business‑minded CFO, not a career controller. Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive will help shape the next stage of growth for a stable, profitable media company with $30M in revenue and 110 employees. Accounting operations are largely outsourced, allowing the CFO to focus on strategy, corporate development, business performance, legal oversight, and executive partnership. Ideal candidates have experience in startup or growth‑stage environments (typically under $50M revenue), are comfortable with ambiguity, and have a proven ability to drive outcomes through influence and cross‑functional collaboration. Media or AdTech experience is a strong plus.
