Job summary

The Washington, DC office of Clifford Chance is seeking an associate to join its Trade/Sanctions group with a focus on the growing Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) practice.

The successful candidate will advise clients on CFIUS matters, prepare notices and declarations, and guide transactions through the CFIUS review process, working closely with corporate, private equity, funds, technology, energy, infrastructure, and financial institutions teams.

Qualifications

• Regulatory analysis, drafting, and communication skills are essential.
• Substantial experience with CFIUS matters and national security regulatory analysis.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary and cross-border teams.
• Strong drafting and analytical capabilities.
• Comfort with handling multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on CFIUS and related national security matters, including filings and reviews.
• Prepare CFIUS filings and declarations, and manage the review process.
• Collaborate with corporate, private equity, funds, technology, energy, and cross-border M&A teams.
