TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking a full-time Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with AWS D1.5 and D1.1 shop fabrication experience. The role involves traveling to bridge and structural steel fabricators from central Pennsylvania to central Ohio to perform quality assurance inspections.

Qualified candidates will have NDT and coatings experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to read shop drawings. This position requires extensive travel and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform quality assurance inspections on bridges and steel fabrication.
• Conduct Visual (VT) testing per applicable code requirements.
• Inspect high strength bolts and report testing results.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, specs and project provisions.
• Travel to AISC-certified fabricators across PA to OH region.
• Maintain client relations and professional interactions with teams.

Overview

TRC Companies is seeking a full-time Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with AWS D1.5 (preferred)/AWS D1.1 shop fabrication experience to perform quality assurance inspections. This position primarily involves working at AISC certified fabricators (Bridge and other steel structures) in a geographic region spanning from central Pennsylvania to central Ohio. We are looking for a traveling CWI who is open to extensive travel throughout these states.

Responsibilities

• Previous bridge/structural fabrication inspection (QC or QA) experience.
• NDT Level I or Level II certification, UT, MT, PT or Radiographic Interpretation. (Preferred - MT required for bridge fabrication).
• ICC Structural Bolting certification or other experience inspecting high strength bolt testing and installation. (Preferred - not required).
• NACE/SSPC coating certification or other experience inspecting application of coatings on structural steel. (Preferred - not required).
• Familiarity and experience with AASHTO/AWS D1.5/AASHTO/AWS D1.1.
• Perform third party DOT structural steel fabrication quality assurance inspection and reporting.
• Utilize applicable ASTM and AASHTO construction specifications.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, specifications, and project special provisions to verify compliance to material quality.
• Ability to work closely with other fabrication, construction, and quality personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
• Perform Visual (VT) Testing inspection per applicable code requirements.
• Familiarity with inspecting and reporting high strength (Grade 325) bolts testing (rotational capacity/preinstallation verification) and reporting. (Preferred - not required).
• Ability to use the following: Laptop computer, cell (smart) phone, scanner, and printer.
• Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, internet, report writing, file (photograph and other) attachments.
• Ability to develop and maintain client relations.

Qualifications

• American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) will be verified through www.aws.org.
• 3 years minimum project experience with structural steel fabrication.
• NDT / Coatings / Bolting certifications are a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good Driving Record (driver license will be verified).
• Pass pre-hire drug screening/testing.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
