Job summary

KTA-Tator, Inc. is looking for Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI) to join our team in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This is a full-time/part-time position requiring travel and the ability to work various shifts. Qualified candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED, current AWS CWI certification, and preferably experience in bridge fabrication inspection.

The role also requires strong communication skills, valid transportation, and a willingness to work in challenging environments. The salary range is set at $30–42 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect welding processes and ensure they meet standards.

Job Summary

KTA-Tator, Inc. (KTA) is a 100% employee‑owned materials engineering firm that offers coatings, steel, concrete fabrication and building envelope inspection, evaluation, and testing services. KTA is recruiting full‑time and part‑time Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI) nationwide. All applicants must be willing to travel and work multiple shifts.

Qualifications and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
• Current AWS CWI (required)
• Bridge fabrication inspection experience (preferred)
• NDT Experience desirable
• AMPP (NACE) certification desirable

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

• Good oral and written communication skills
• Reliable transportation
• Valid driver’s license
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to navigate the internet

Physical Requirements

• Close, color, distance, depth vision and ability to adjust focus
• Ability to travel extensively and work outside on occasion (including inclement weather)
• Climbing, bending, crawling, and working in confined spaces and on uneven terrain
• Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
