Job summary

Alta HR, recruiting on behalf of an aerospace manufacturer in the Folsom, CA area, seeks an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to support welding quality, compliance, and inspection within a precision manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate holds a current AWS CWI, can develop and review WPS/PQRs, manage welder qualifications, perform in-process and final weld inspections, and interpret welding specs and codes while maintaining thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Must hold current AWS CWI certification.
• Experience developing, reviewing, and maintaining WPSs and PQRs.
• Experience managing welder qualifications, certifications, and related records.
• Performing in-process and final weld inspections and approvals.
• Ability to interpret welding specifications, drawings, and applicable codes.
• Strong documentation and quality/compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final weld inspections and approvals.
• Maintain and organize welder qualification records and certifications.
• Review welding procedures and associated documentation for compliance.
• Interpret welding drawings, specs and codes to ensure conformance.
• Support welding quality and compliance within a precision manufacturing environment.

What we're looking for:

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification

• Managing welder qualifications, certifications, and related records
• Performing in-process and final weld inspections and approvals
• Ability to interpret welding specifications, drawings, and applicable codes
• Strong documentation and quality/compliance experience

Highly Preferred - Experience in one or more industries:

• AWS D17.1 and/or aerospace welding experience
• Automotive or other precision manufacturing experience
• Maritime manufacturing experience

We're especially interested in candidates who have worked with smaller, precision, tight-tolerance welded parts and assemblies, rather than exclusively structural or large-scale fabrication.
