Qualifications

• Two to five years of welding experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, assembly prints, and welding specifications.
• Working knowledge of metallurgy and material properties.
• Knowledge of multiple welding methods, including MIG, TIG, and other arc-welding processes.
• Ability to measure accurately, fit components, and check completed work against specifications.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Clear communication, a cooperative approach, and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, assembly prints, and welding specifications.
• Measure, cut, shape, and fit metal components to the required dimensions.
• Prepare and position components using hand tools, clamps, jigs, and other fabrication equipment.
• Use the appropriate welding processes, equipment, and materials according to the specifications for each job.
• Produce welds that meet the required quality standards and structural specifications.
• Inspect completed work against blueprint tolerances and welding requirements.
• Communicate material, fit, or weld-quality concerns to your supervisor.
• Assist with shop organization, workstation improvements, and assembly-line modifications.
• Follow safe work practices and maintain a clean, organized welding area.
• Complete other fabrication and production duties assigned by your supervisor.
