Wells is hiring for a safety‑focused welder to assist in producing steel components to blueprint specifications. You will cut, weld, and fabricate using hand tools and power equipment in a production environment.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a welding certification.

  • Experience in cutting and welding steel to blueprints.
  • Able to read production drawings and measure with tape.

  • Make mathematical calculations.
  • Detect and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Read production drawings.
  • Have clear knowledge of basic measurements and the ability to read a tape measure within 1/16 of an inch.
  • Use a wide variety of tools, including but not limited to hammer, measuring tape, drill press, band saw, and ironworker.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and always follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as requested or required.

Assist in the production of steel products by performing a variety of duties. Candidates will perform an array of tasks such as housekeeping, following safety requirements, cutting steel, and moving materials throughout the facility. Responsible for cutting welded assemblies to blueprint specifications.

Salary range $38.22/Hour. Based on experience.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a safety‑focused Certified Welder with experience in cutting, welding, and fabricating steel components to blueprint specifications. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, dependable, able to read drawings, take accurate measurements, and work efficiently in a production environment. This individual works well with others and is committed to quality, safety, and meeting production goals.

Ideal Candidates Will Have
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Must possess a welding certification.
  • Must be able to pass welding test for GMAW and SMAW.
  • Previous work experience in cutting and welding.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
  • Perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use.
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours.
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently.
  • Work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards.
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (depending on location).
  • Wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
