Job summary

Northeastern University is seeking a Water Fitness Instructor to lead water aerobics classes under the supervision of the Aquatics Director. You will warm up, instruct techniques, demonstrate exercises, cue music, and ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all participants.

Qualifications include certification in water fitness and knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology, with music-driven cueing. This temporary role offers $20.00 per hour and supports a dynamic campus recreation program through

Qualifications

• Certified instructor preferred (AEA, ACE, AFAA).
• Working knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology and training principles.
• Knowledge of water aerobics teaching strategies with music, tempo, cueing and rhythm.
• Choreography and music skills.
• Ability to be professional and motivate class participants.
• Ability to cooperate and work well with staff.
• Current Red Cross Lifeguard CPR/First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach scheduled classes with warm-up, workout and cool down.
• Instruct proper techniques, demonstrate exercises and cue rhythm.
• Prepare equipment, music and handouts for each class.
• Remove and replace lane lines as needed for class space.
• Assist patrons and maintain a positive exercise experience.
• Keep management informed of pool activities and facility needs or problems.
• Ensure safety standards and department policies are followed.
• Perform related duties as required.
