Job summary

Project Solutions, Inc. (PSI) seeks an experienced Certified Wastewater Treatment Supervisor to oversee daily operation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of a Sioux Falls facility. This leadership role manages staff, safety, and continuous improvement to ensure compliant, efficient performance.

The successful candidate will lead plant operations, supervise personnel, and coordinate with regulators, vendors, and PSI leadership while maintaining safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• South Dakota Wastewater Treatment Systems Operator Level II Certification (Required).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years of wastewater treatment operations experience.
• Prior supervisory, lead operator, or management experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, including biological, mechanical, and chemical treatment systems.
• Experience with laboratory sampling, testing, and regulatory compliance reporting.
• Strong troubleshooting and maintenance experience with treatment plant equipment.
• Ability to interpret operational data, laboratory results, and process performance metrics.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check. This position is also subject to the company’s random drug testing policy.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily wastewater treatment plant operations and staff activities.
• Monitor, inspect, troubleshoot, and optimize treatment processes to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of pumps, motors, blowers, feeders, valves, SCADA systems, and related equipment.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance programs and corrective repairs for plant systems and equipment.
• Ensure all operational logs, reports, laboratory records, and compliance documentation are accurate and maintained.
• Review laboratory testing results and implement operational adjustments as necessary.
• Manage chemical inventory, application, and safety procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Coordinate wastewater sampling, testing, monitoring, and reporting activities.
• Support regulatory inspections, audits, and permit compliance requirements.
• Lead and develop plant personnel through training, coaching, and performance oversight.
• Promote and enforce plant safety programs, procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with PSI leadership, client representatives, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to operational emergencies as required.
