Job summary

VCA Alton Road Animal Hospital in Miami Beach, FL is seeking a compassionate, experienced Certified Veterinary Technician to join a full-service practice. This hands-on role emphasizes patient care, anesthesia, surgery assistance, and collaboration with veterinarians and staff.

As part of a modern team, you will perform exams, vaccinations, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiography, lab work, and dental care while educating clients.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) with active licensure/registration.
• Experience in small animal practice and hospital-based care is preferred.
• Ability to assist with anesthesia, surgery, and patient monitoring.
• Strong communication with clients and team, and accurate medical records management.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical exams, gathers patient history, and records vitals.
• Administers vaccines, medications, and treatments with accurate dosing.
• Places IV catheters, performs venipuncture, and manages fluids.
• Inducts, maintains, and monitors anesthesia for procedures.
• Assists in surgery, including spay/neuter and instrument prep.
• Performs radiography and in-house diagnostic workups.
• Supports dental procedures and dental radiographs.
• Educates clients on preventive care and at-home instructions.
• Maintains medical records and communicates with the care team.
• Supports patient comfort across a range of cases.
