BluePearl Pet Hospital in Glendale, WI is seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinary Technician for our ER/ICU team. The role offers a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 and a competitive hourly pay range.

Responsibilities include anesthesia induction/monitoring, emergency triage with vitals, radiography, and support for CT/endoscopy/ultrasound. Opportunities to mentor staff and advance within a Mars Veterinary Health network.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician required with active credentials.
• Experience in emergency/critical care settings preferred.
• Strong ability to monitor anesthesia and vital signs.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients.
• Triage emergency cases and record vitals (temp, HR, RR, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Assist with CT, endoscopy, and ultrasonography.
• Maintain awareness of normal vital sign ranges and ADRs.
• Interpret blood pressure and other vitals and alert veterinarians as needed.
• Identify arrest risks and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical dosages and administer meds via appropriate routes.
• Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place feeding tubes, drains, PICC/central lines as needed.
• Mentor/train team members and address client concerns.
• Stay current with CPR guidelines; ALS/BLS certification provided.
• Engage with clients empathetically and professionally.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Glendale, WI is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to work in our Emergency and Critical Care department.

*Offering up to a $5,000 Sign on bonus to qualified candidates*

Position: Emergency Veterinary Technician with our ER/ICU Department.

Schedule: Day Shift

Pay Range: $22.25 - $40.50/hour

*This pay band is dependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.*

Competitive Shift Differentials:

• Weekday Night (Mon-Fri 6p to 8a): $3.50
• Weekend Day (Sat-Sun 8a to 6p): $3.50
• Weekend Night (Sat-Sun 6p to 8a): $5.00

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician , You Will:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including proper positioning of patients.
• Assist with or perform CT, endoscopy, and ultrasonography.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert veterinarians to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes, drains, PICC line catheters, and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
• Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R (basic and advanced) CPR guidelines. ALS and BLS certification is provided at no cost to you.
• Mentor and train fellow team members and engage with clients with empathy and professionalism.

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
