Job summary

Bevlab Animal Hospital in Riverdale, Illinois is looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join their team. You're expected to provide excellent patient care while educating pet parents. Responsibilities include communicating treatment plans, implementing prescribed treatments, performing advanced diagnostic procedures, and supporting clinic operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and people skills, a passion for animal care, and must be available weekdays with rotating Saturdays. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a veterinary setting preferred.
  • Passion for patient care and client education is non-negotiable.
  • Availability to work Monday–Friday with one weekday off and rotating Saturdays.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate medical information clearly and compassionately to pet owners.
  • Accurately implement and oversee prescribed treatments.
  • Perform advanced diagnostic procedures such as radiography and sample collection.
  • Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia.
  • Conduct patient assessments and triage cases.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and legally compliant medical records.
  • Support efficient clinic operations and emergency response readiness.
  • Mentor veterinary assistants and support staff.
  • Collaborate with DVMs for patient care plans.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional work environment.

Skills

Venipuncture & catheter placement
Lab diagnostics (bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology basics)
Digital radiology + imaging support
Anesthesia monitoring equipment (pulse ox, capnography, ECG)
Comfortable using veterinary software
Strong understanding of animal handling, restraint techniques, and patient safety
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
Clear communicator of medical information
Team-first mindset

Education

Graduate of an accredited Veterinary Technician program (Associate Degree)
Passed the VTNE + active/eligible RVT license

We’re looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) who’s skilled, motivated, and ready to make a real impact—both in the clinic and with our clients.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Communicate medical information clearly and compassionately to pet owners, ensuring full understanding of diagnoses, treatment plans, and at-home care instructions.
  • Accurately implement and oversee prescribed treatments, including medication calculations, administration, therapies, and follow-up care.
  • Perform and support advanced diagnostic procedures such as radiography, laboratory analysis, cytology, and sample collection.
  • Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia, including continuous assessment of vital parameters and anesthetic depth.
  • Place IV catheters, perform venipuncture, and administer fluids, injections, and blood products as indicated.
  • Conduct patient assessments, triage cases, and promptly identify and communicate changes in patient status.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and legally compliant electronic medical records and treatment logs.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, safety standards, and state licensing regulations.
  • Support efficient clinic operations, including appointment coordination, inpatient care, and emergency response readiness.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to veterinary assistants and support staff as appropriate.
  • Collaborate closely with DVMs and the veterinary team to develop and execute comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional work environment focused on high-quality medicine and client service.
Your Skill Set (Tech + People Skills)
