Job summary

Veterinary Urgent Care Center – Braintree in Braintree, MA is seeking a Part-Time Certified Veterinary Technician to join a fast-paced urgent-care team. You will provide same-day care for non-emergent illnesses and injuries while collaborating with specialists as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program with a current state license.
  • Experience in emergency/urgent care is a plus and preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle critical cases.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient histories and assist with sick-patient appointments.
  • Triage patients and assess their immediate needs.
  • Perform blood draws and place IV catheters.
  • Run and interpret in-house diagnostics.
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical procedures.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and clients.

Do you enjoy the excitement of emergency medicine but prefer an environment that doesn’t have the intensity of a traditional 24/7 ER?

Veterinary Urgent Care Center (VUCC) Braintree is looking for a Part-Time Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team. VUCC provides same-day care for non-emergent illnesses and injuries while referring patients requiring intensive emergency care or hospitalization to specialty and emergency hospitals.

This is a great opportunity for an LVT who enjoys a fast-paced environment, wants to sharpen their clinical skills, and is passionate about hands-on patient care.

What You'll Do
  • Obtain patient histories and assist with sick-patient appointments
  • Triage patients and assess their immediate needs
  • Perform blood draws and place IV catheters
  • Run and interpret in-house diagnostics
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical procedures
  • Calculate medications and surgical drugs
  • Help keep the surgery schedule running efficiently
  • Perform and assist with digital radiology
  • Assist with dental procedures
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and clients
  • Assist with treatment of acute illnesses and injuries

What You’ll Bring to the Team
  • A calm, efficient, and decisive approach, especially during medical emergencies.
  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program and a current state license in good standing.
  • Proficiency in a range of technical skills, with a strong aptitude for emergency procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care nursing.
  • Confidence in handling animals of all temperaments and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively under pressure.
  • One year of experience in a veterinary setting is preferred; urgent care or emergency experience is a plus!
