Job summary

Glenwood City Veterinary Clinic in Glenwood City, WI seeks a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to assist veterinarians with anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, labs, and client education. The role supports patient care throughout the practice and requires a state license and the ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities include taking histories, monitoring vitals during exams and procedures, obtaining samples, and maintaining exam rooms.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician.
• Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds; assist with heavier lifts with help.
• Follow OSHA PPE practices and safety protocols.
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS Office.
• Basic math skills for medication dosages.
• Strong communication to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine and surgery and other tasks as needed.
• Take histories, vitals, and weights during outpatient exams and educate clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Obtain samples and perform in-hospital lab testing; prepare specimens.
• Take and develop radiographs following safety procedures.
• Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Clean and stock exam rooms and assist team to keep public areas tidy.
• Demonstrate warmth, courtesy and professionalism with clients and patients.
• Communicate with veterinarians and staff about patient plans and concerns.
• Any other duties as assigned.
