Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Certified Vascular Technologist to perform non-invasive vascular diagnostic studies using ultrasound and specialized vascular testing equipment, assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating vascular disease.

Under supervision, you will acquire and document diagnostic imaging, support clinical procedures, ensure safety standards, maintain records, and contribute to quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical imaging program required.
• ARDMS (RVT) or ARRT (RVS) certification required.
• Minimum of two years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs non-invasive vascular diagnostic studies, including carotid, venous, arterial, and physiologic vascular testing, using established clinical protocols.
• Obtains, evaluates, and documents diagnostic images and study results for physician interpretation.
• Recognizes and communicates significant findings in accordance with department procedures.
• Assesses, prepares, educates, and positions patients for diagnostic testing and vascular-related procedures.
• Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care and assists physicians during vascular procedures as appropriate.
• Maintains accurate and complete patient records, study documentation, and imaging data.

Job Summary

The Certified Vascular Technologist performs non-invasive vascular diagnostic studies using ultrasound and specialized vascular testing equipment to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease. Working under the direct or indirect supervision of a physician, this role provides high-quality, age-appropriate patient care, acquires and documents diagnostic imaging, supports clinical procedures, and ensures compliance with established clinical, accreditation, and safety standards.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Performs non-invasive vascular diagnostic studies, including carotid, venous, arterial, and physiologic vascular testing, using established clinical protocols.
• Obtains, evaluates, and documents diagnostic images and study results for physician interpretation.
• Recognizes and communicates significant findings in accordance with department procedures.
• Assesses, prepares, educates, and positions patients for diagnostic testing and vascular-related procedures.
• Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care and assists physicians during vascular procedures as appropriate.
• Maintains accurate and complete patient records, study documentation, and imaging data.
• Adheres to all regulatory, accreditation, patient safety, infection control, and confidentiality requirements.
• Maintains vascular imaging equipment and ensures exam rooms and supplies are prepared to support patient care.
• Participates in quality improvement, operational efficiency, and cost-containment initiatives.
• Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team members to support patient care and treatment planning.
• Maintains required certifications and competencies and participates in ongoing professional development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Compensation Pay Range

$41.41 - $62.11
