Job summary
Phoebe Putney Health System in Americus, GA is seeking a scrub nurse/tech to assist surgeons in operative and endoscopic procedures. Under supervision of Director/Nurse Manager, the role supports patients from birth to geriatric and ensures sterile technique and instrument readiness.
The ideal candidate has an associate degree or nursing/tech degree with related experience, and at least 1 year in nursing or surgical tech; CST certification is preferred. This is a PRN/per diem position.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or nursing/tech degree with related experience.
- Minimum 1 year nursing or surgical technician experience.
- CST certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile back table and mayo stand with instruments.
- Assist surgeons with surgeries and maintain aseptic technique.
- Drape sterile field and track instruments, sponges and needles.
- Document and communicate status with the circulating nurse.
