Job summary

AdventHealth in Riverview, FL seeks a skilled Surgical Tech for full-time day shift. You will prepare and set up for surgical procedures, assist surgeons, maintain sterile technique, and help with instrument handling and room turnover.

The role requires knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, and aseptic setup, plus BLS and CST/credentialing as listed. Sign-on bonuses and relocation support are available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Completion of validation skills
• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field setup
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques
• Knowledge to anticipate critical emergencies of Specialty Call Team
• Ability to organize, promote, and conduct relevant in-services on unit
• 2+ years as certified surgical tech (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.
• Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants.
• Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient.
• Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy.
• Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately.
• Helps in draping sterile field.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures.
• Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures.
• Prepares sterile dressings and cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
