Certified Surgical Technologist - Full Time

Cayuga Health System, part of Centralus Health, offers comprehensive and community-centered care in Central New York, recently expanding with Arnot Health and Xtensys. This position is full time with competitive pay and a sign-on bonus.

Pay Range: $30.00 – $39.28 per hour plus benefits. Sign‑on bonus: up to $15,000 for certified candidates.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Maintain operative care standards according to AORN guidelines.
• Stock rooms, clean equipment, and prepare supplies based on surgeon and anesthesia needs.
• Assist with patient positioning, surgical hand scrubs, counts, and Time‑Out procedures.
• Identify and address safety hazards, follow universal precautions, and infection control protocols.
• Organize tasks to meet patient and unit needs, adapt to changes, and stay current with education and policies.

Required Skills And Experience

• NBSTSA or NCCT certification, or graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program eligible for certification within 12 months.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent hand and finger use (e.g., computer keyboard).
• Lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
• Operate job‑related equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, ability to adjust focus.

Location and Travel Requirements

• Onsite at Cayuga Medical Center: 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850.
• Days/Evenings flexible; option among 5x8, 4x10, 3x12 shifts. Rotating on‑call schedule with 30‑minute response time, on‑site call house available.
• 0% travel expected.
