Job summary

Commonwealth Healthcare, LLC is seeking a qualified Surgical Tech to assist in the operating room under RN supervision. The role includes maintaining a sterile field, preparing surgical instruments, and supporting the surgical team during procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Candidates should have completed a Certified Surgical Tech program or be NYS LPN-eligible, possess BLS, and arrive within 30 minutes of call.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Certified Surgical Tech program preferred or NYS LPN license eligible.
• Knowledge of cleaning, sterilization, and disinfection of OR equipment.
• BLS certification required.
• Under supervision of an RN, assist in nursing care and preparation of the surgical patient.
• Perform scrub duties and assist with surgical procedures.
• Must arrive within 30 minutes of call.

Job description

• Completion of a Certified Surgical Tech program preferred or current New York State LPN license eligible
• Knowledge in the use of cleaning/sterilization/disinfections of equipment and instrumentation utilized in the clinical operating room setting.
• BLS required.
• Qualified candidate will function under the direct supervision of an RN and assist in Nursing care and preparation of the surgical patient by performing routine & delegated duties according to the standards and policies of the hospital and department.
• Candidate will perform technical duties relating to scrub personnel, including precise & efficient reaction to all situations & assist with departmental work as assigned.
• Surgical techs have a vital role in creating and maintaining a sterile surgical room and ensure that surgical equipment is functioning properly & safely as well as assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.
