Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time Surgical Technician for Navicent Health Medical Center in Macon, GA. You will support the surgical team by preparing instrumentation, sterile fields and equipment for procedures, while adapting to changing assignments.

Completion of a surgical tech program is required or military equivalent; no experience is required but one year is preferred, and certification must be earned within 12 months. Benefits eligible and 40 hours per week.

• Completion of a surgical tech program, either technical or military school.

• Must attain certification within 12 months to remain in position. Military certification will be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for designated equipment and supplies used in the case.
• Prepares surgical instrumentation for sterilization and pulls together needed materials for procedures.
• Prepares the sterile field, instrumentation and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, assists the nurse and the anesthesia provider as needed.
