The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join their perioperative team. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, alongside completion of a formal Surgical Technology Training Program and certification as CST or TS-C. This position demands excellent attention to detail in maintaining sterile conditions during operations.
The Certified Surgical Technologist is an essential member of the perioperative team, working collaboratively to ensure the success of patient procedures. The Certified Surgical Technologist assists in surgical procedures by preparing the operating/procedural room, ensuring the availability of necessary instruments and supplies, and supporting the surgical team throughout the procedure. The Certified Surgical Technologist performs their specific roles and duties with high standards, creating an atmosphere that maximizes patient care outcomes, improves customer service levels, reduces the length of hospitalization, and decreases costs. The Certified Surgical Technologist reflects a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect.
The Certified Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. They understand the procedure being performed and anticipate the surgeon’s needs. The Certified Surgical Technologist has expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic techniques and is constantly vigilant in maintaining the sterile field. Based on departmental needs, the Certified Surgical Technologist may be assigned rotating shifts and on-call duties.
