11 Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua, NH is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for the on-call team covering Sun–Thu overnights (7p–7a). Guaranteed pay for 40 hours with no weekends or holidays.

The CST will prepare sterile instrumentation, support verification and intra-operative activities, and respond to emergencies under the Circulator and Clinical Nurse Manager guidance. Required: accredited CST program, CST/TS-C certification, BLS, NH registration, and at least 2 years’ CST

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification as CST or TS-C required.
• Current BLS certification.
• New Hampshire Medical Technologist registration required unless licensed.
• Minimum of two years CST experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prepare sterile instrumentation and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Assist surgical team with verification process.
• Assist with intra-operative procedures and closure.
• Review surgical booking and match procedures to preference cards.
• Use preference cards to select instrumentation.
• Inspect instruments for sterility, safety and function.

About the Job:

As a member of the Surgical Services team, the Certified Surgical Technologist identifies and prepares sterile instrumentation and equipment for surgical procedures.

This role assists the surgical team with the verification process, intra-operative procedures, and case closure protocol.

In given circumstances that may arise must respond appropriately to emergency situations.

The Certified Surgical Technologist works under the direction of the Circulator and is accountable to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

What You'll Do:

• Work is required to be performed on-site.
• Required to be readily accessible to respond to surgical emergencies outside of the normal surgical schedule hours.
• Identify and prepare sterile instrumentation and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Assist surgical team with verification process.
• Assist surgical team with intra-operative procedures and with closure procedures.
• Review the surgical booking and matches procedures to preference cards.
• Accurately uses surgical preference cards for selection of instrumentation.
• Inspect instruments for sterility, safety and function.
• Evaluate surroundings to maintain sterile field.

Who You Are / Requirements:

Education Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program required.

Licensure/Certification Tech in Surgery (TS-C) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.

Current BLS certification required.

New Hampshire Medical Technologist registration required unless another current New Hampshire state license is held.

Experience Minimum of two (2) years of Certified Surgical Technologist experience required.
