Job summary

The surgical technologist at Doctors Hospital of Laredo, in Laredo, TX, will work directly with the surgical team to prepare the surgical suite according to patient age, medical condition and surgeon preference.

They will also perform sponge, sharp and instrument counts per hospital policies, cross-train to other surgical areas within UHS, and demonstrate competency in aseptic surgical equipment annually.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Willingness to cross-train in other areas.
• Adherence to Compliance Program and Code of Conduct required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical suite according to age, medical condition and surgeon preference.
