Job summary

Endeavor Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Surgical Technologist for our Main Operating Room. This full-time position offers a 7:00am-3:30pm schedule with on-call rotation.

You will prepare and hand instruments, maintain sterile technique, scrub for procedures, anticipate surgeon needs, and ensure patient safety across all ages.

Requirements include graduation from an approved surgical technology program, current CPR, and prior surgical experience; certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical technology program.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Previous experience in surgery or on-the-job experience.
• Certification in surgical technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and obtains the required surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures based on physicians request and the needs of patient; exchanges drug trays as needed under the direction of licensed medical staff.
• Inspects, properly cares for and handles surgical instrumentation and equipment appropriately.
• Performs scrub responsibilities according to physician's preference and hospital policies and procedures.
• Anticipates, and is attentive to, the surgeon's needs for instruments, ligatures, sponges, irrigation, etc. during the surgical procedure.
• Demonstrates the skills necessary to provide a safe environment and communicate effectively with all age groups of patients – pediatric through geriatric.

$26.61 - $39.92 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
