Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Certified Surgical Technologist II functions as a member of the operating room team to prepare sterile supplies and equipment used in surgical procedures and perform appropriate room duties involved with direct patient care following established procedural guidelines. The role also includes assisting with various duties such as vaginal deliveries, supply restocking, instrument flow, and front‑desk customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform room duties and direct patient care in accordance with procedural guidelines.
• Assist providers, nurses, and patients with vaginal deliveries, instrument flow, and supply restocking.
• Provide front‑desk customer service and engagement as required.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA or American Red Cross).
• High school diploma and graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or military program.
• Minimum one year of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist; two years preferred for Level II status.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, problem‑solving, and autonomous clinical practice skills.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, and work in confined or cramped spaces.
• Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
• Good vision, hearing, and tactile sensation; ability to work in a latex‑safe and respirator‑qualified environment.
• Capability to handle stressful situations and work rotating shifts with occasional overtime.
