Summary

• Procedural Technicians function in both non-sterile and sterile capacities by creating an optimal environment for the procedural patient. Procedural Technicians possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine knowledge of human anatomy, procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate invasive, therapeutic, and/or diagnostic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain competency to scrub procedures: practice aseptic technique, sterile technique, and maintain universal precautions.
• Maintain and acquire knowledge of instruments including identification and proper use and appropriate decontamination/sterilization.
• Practice under the direct supervision of the procedural team and within the scope of practice of a Procedural Technician.
• Consult and collaborate with colleagues to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of patient care.
• Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning by identifying learning needs, participating in ongoing educational activities, and maintaining records that provide evidence of competency and lifelong learning.
• Possess knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to meet patients’ physical, psychological and social needs for the population served.

Credentials

Salary Range

$25.47 - $40.61 per hour. Successful candidates are provided a specific rate taking into consideration factors such as experience and education.
