The role involves scrub duties across varied specialties, ensuring sterile supplies and equipment, and assisting circulating staff under the RN circulator, with strict adherence to hospital policies.

Qualificações

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCC certification.
• Annual 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a surgical technologist in the State of NJ.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsabilidades

• Assists the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
• Performs scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensures the case has the necessary sterile supplies and equipment for the surgeon and procedure.
• Assists with circulating duties under direct supervision of the RN circulator assigned to the patient.
• Ensures adherence to Hospital, State, and departmental policies and procedures.
