UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Full-Time Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to support highly specialized orthopaedic and trauma procedures. You will work with a multidisciplinary surgical team to provide first-assist support from setup through closure and room turnover within a Level I Trauma Center.

The ideal candidate has NBSTSA CSFA certification, a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology/assisting education, and at least one year of experience, with current BLS and

Qualifications

• CSFA certification NBSTSA current.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology & Assisting program.
• Minimum of one year surgical first-assisting experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to obtain Tennessee state licensure upon hire.
• Credentialing and call requirements must be met.

Responsabilités

• Serve as CSFA during orthopaedic and trauma procedures.
• Assist surgeons and surgical team to ensure safe, efficient procedures.
• Set up, perform, and clean up assigned procedures.
• Prepare and manage surgical instruments, implants, and supplies.
• Safely operate tourniquets, drills, saws, and other equipment.
• Maintain instrument and equipment integrity and proper sterile technique.
• Assist with patient transfers and positioning.
• Assist with skin prep and draping.
• Provide visualization of the operative site and assists with closure.
